“I have never received any kind of benefits from AMMA," Salim Kumar told Onmanorama when asked about MLA and actor Ganesh Kumar's allegations against him.
Earlier, Ganesh Kumar hit out at Salim Kumar saying the latter has not yet resigned from Association of Malayalam Movie Artists alleging and was still being a beneficiary of the organization.

However, Salim Kumar has a different version to tell. “The benefits, which they are talking about is the insurance amount, which all the artistes are entitled to get for performing programmes. I am not blaming Ganesh Kumar but a politician like him might not understand the plight of artistes like us," he said.
"Mammootty is serving as the general secretary of the association and I have already given my resignation to him. I don't think I need to give resignation to Ganesh Kumar as well. Things like this should be discussed within AMMA and I feel such statements should be questioned. If there are complaints among the association members, they should talk among the members rather than publicizing it like a third-rate politician," said Salim Kumar.
