Shaalin Zoya's 'ZITA' gets a thumbs up Stills from the video

On 7 July, 2015 when Malayalam film and TV actress Shalin Zoya released her first directorial venture Revelation, many were surprised. And now, Shaalin has once again made everyone smile with yet another beautiful short film.

The short film titled ZITA has been receiving positive reviews from viewers ever since it was uploaded on YouTube on the ocassion of International women's day.

“ZITA is about how a woman goes on a road trip all alone and explores the joys of being independent by discovering herself. Most of the days, we see all the negative things about woman and through ZITA, my concept was to show an inspiring aspect and that's the reason why I chose to release it on a Women’s day”, says Shaalin.

While the over-four-minute video features Shaalin playing the lead role as a traveller, the movie tries to create an impact to the general viewers with the tagline 'Die with memories, not with dreams'.

Though she is noted for her TV performances, Shaalin has always been passionate about direction. “I want to direct a full length film one day. Well, that's my dream and I consider these as a practice.

On getting positive feedbacks, Shaalin says, “I am really glad that people are accepting my works. The video was released on Youtube in the evening and since then, not just girls, but so many boys and men too rang up and tell me how they could easily relate to each shots.”
