Shah Rukh Khan-Kajol pair's much-awaited Dilwale is creating history by garnering a record opening day gross collection in the UAE.
The film gathered a gross collection of about $900,000 from the UAE market, the best recorded ever for a Bollywood flick, on its first day from there.
The amount is calculated to be ahead of Hollywood movie Star Wars: The Force Awakens' first day collection by 60 per cent and by 400 per cent to Ranveer Singh and Dipika Padukone's Bajirao Mastani which also hit the screens on Friday.
The movie, the latest from hit-maker Rohit Shetty, has all elements of a Bollywood entertainer laced with action, rib-tickling comedy, fresh pairing of Kriti Sanon and Varun Dhawan, the loved 'jodi' of Kajol-SRK, and scenic landscapes of Bulgaria, Iceland and Goa.
