The official word is in. Soundarya Rajinikanth will be directing her brother-in-law and Tamil star Dhanush in Velaiilla Pattadhari (VIP) 2, sequel to the hit Velaiilla Pattadhari, released in 2014.
The announcement was made on Twitter pages of Soundarya, Dhanush and the movie's producer Kalaippuli S Thanu.
The movie will be made as a bilingual, in Tamil and Telugu and the shooting will commence next month.
For Soundarya, the young daughter of Superstar Rajinikanth and Latha, VIP 2 will be her second outing as director after the 2014 film Kochadaiiyaan, which was India's first photorealistic motion capture film and had Rajini in the lead.
Dhanush is married to Soundarya's elder sister Aishwaryaa, who has directed 2 movies so far.
Anirudh Ravichander and Sean Roldan will be in charge of the music department of VIP 2, the tweets tell us.
In 2015, Dhanush had acted in Thangamagan, which was advertised as VIP2 during promotions. However, it had nothing to with the original VIP in content and characters.
So, #RaghuvaranIsBack.
