Palakkad: Kerala state film awards were given away at a grand function here on Saturday. Chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan inaugurated the event at Indira Gandhi Municipal Stadium.
The JC Daniel award for lifetime achievement was given away to veteran filmmaker K.G. George by the chief minister. The CM distributed 48 awards in various categories.
While Dulquer Salmaan was selected as the best actors for Charlie, Parvathy bagged the award for Charlie and Ennu Ninte Moideen.
Director Martin Prakkat's Charlie has won as many as eight awards followed by RS Vimal's Ennu Ninte Moideen.
Actors Madhu, Sarada, Sheela, Kaviyoor Ponnamma, filmmaker-writer Sreekumaran Thampi, music director M.K. Arjunan and sound recordist Resul Pookutty were honored at the event.
