The Torrentz.eu website stopped functioning all of a sudden Friday, shocking millions of users, including those from Kerala.
The news sent its users into a scramble online. Some of them did not believe it while others looked for other torrent options available. The tech savvy ones fished out the alternatives, but most of them turned out to be mirror sites of websites that stopped uploading new content for the last couple of weeks.
In no time, the floodgate of trolls opened – hilarious memes found their way to Facebook communities.
Through troll posts, torrent pundits tried to tell others that Torrentz.eu was just a meta-search engine that helped users find links of other torrent sites. But still, the uncluttered Torrentz.eu was the first place for many of them to look for their preferred downloads of movies, music, softwares and other digital content free of cost. Yes, it's illegal. But that's an altogether different topic for discussion.
Now, is actor Jayasurya really sad that Torrentz.eu is gone forever? We don't think so, but this troll post on Facebook suggests that.
Got the meme? With Torrentz gaining popularity among movie buffs, every Malayalam movie has been getting two releases these days – theater release and torrent release (when the DVD releases and its print is uploaded as a torrent file).
Here, the owner of the troll suggests that Jayasurya's movies become the talking point of internet when they show up online as torrent files and that he gets additional praise from viewers, much after the film's theatrical release.
