This is why Dulquer was anxious doing 'Yamandan' role

Actor Dulquer Salmaan, who is returning to Malayalam after a hiatus of two years, said he was constantly bothered while shooting for the role of Lallu in Oru Yamandan Premakadha.

The actor was last seen in 'Solo' in 2017.

'Oru Yamandan Premakadha' hit the screens on Thursday.

“It was fun doing such a light-hearted role but I was also apprehensive if I am overdoing or if I was too serious. Each time, the director would call for a cut, I would go and ask the team if it was fine,” Dulquer said in an exclusive chat show with Manorama Online.

“As and actor we can't judge ourselves but we get to know only when we watch ourselves on screen,” he added.

Meanwhile, writers Vishnu Unnikrishnan and Bibin George stated that unlike their previous ventures, 'Oru Yamandan PremaKadha' is more story focused.

“We took us a while to write the screenplay for this film as we had a good story and we wanted to develop it nicely.

“Our previous films Amar Akbar Anthony and Kattapanayile Rihtwik Roshan were script oriented,” they said.

Talking about the break, Dulquer said his parents would often get curious as why he wasn't working.

“I have my own freedom to take decisions and select my works. But recently, while I was waiting for new projects and would simply sit at home, my mom would often come and ask why are you sitting like this... Aren't you listening to a story today... why no work..and I would have a good time making her understand what I am doing,” said Dulquer.

“Many youngsters often go through such situation but never would one have thought that a star like Dulquer would have to go through such situations,” Vishnu and Bibin said.
