Sachin Tendulkar Sachin Tendulkar. ISL

Kottayam: Kerala Blasters co-owner Sachin Tendulkar expressed disappointment over the Kochi-based franchise's exit from the second edition of the Indian Super League (ISL).

The cricket legend wrote on his Facebook page that he would analyse the reasons for Blasters' poor performance. Blasters, who ended up runners-up in the inaugural ISL, finished their campaign with 13 points from 14 games much to the disappointment of their legion of fans. They won three matches, drew four and lost seven to finish rock bottom in the eight-team league.

“Sports teaches you a lot about the realities of life. For one, it teaches you that in every failure lies an opportunity to rise and succeed. The second season of the ISL- Indian Super League has ended disappointingly for the Kerala Blasters. I share the pain and angst of the millions of fans across the country who have offered their overwhelming support to the team over the last two years.

The deep disappointment was palpable in the many messages, mails, posts, nudges and whispers I received especially as the season was nearing culmination. As part of ‪#‎KerelaBlasters‬, I can assure you that we will take a deep, hard look at the season and analyse what can be done. But panicking and passing the blame instantly or scrutinizing difficult decisions retrospectively may not be the right approach.

They say winning and losing is part of any game. However, at ‪#‎KeralaBlasters‬ we are determined to win…... to win back your faith and the special position we have in your hearts. We are committed to make every effort to overcome this challenging phase and take the steps to set the platform for the vibrant #KeralaBlasters we are all proud of!” read Sachin's FB post.
