Thiruvananthapuram: Even as group loyalties and equations keep changing in the Congress, senior leaders Ramesh Chennithala, MLA, and K Muraleedharan, MP, are once again joining hands to lead the 'I' group.

Muraleedharan has been, so far, standing by the new leadership of K Sudhakaran and V D Satheesan, who are the Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president and Opposition Leader, respectively.

He has now adopted a stand to join hands with Chennithala without distancing himself from Sudhakaran and Satheesan.

Chennithala has expressed the view that former leader K Karunakaran's son and favourite disciple should not be in opposing camps. Both Chennithala and Muraleedharan have confirmed to 'Manorama' their decision to work together.

Sudhakaran and Satheesan, who were with Chennithala in the 'I' group, have shed the factional tag after their elevation to the party leadership. Chennithala and Muraleedharan's intention is to bring together Karunakaran's followers without indulging in groupism which could invite the anger of both the AICC and KPCC.

Muraleedharan, who initially cooperated with the new leadership, felt that he had not received the desired recognition. Chennithala, aiming to compensate for the losses the 'I' group had faced, spoke to Muraleedharan, who received the V Balaram award from the former the other day.
