Kollam: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested two Kerala men on Saturday who were absconding for 19 years in connection with the 2006 murder of a woman and her 17-day-old twin children in Anchal, Kollam. 

The accused, Divilkumar (42) from Anchal and Rajesh (47) from Puthussery in Kannur, were soldiers in the Pathankot unit.

The CBI Chennai unit apprehended the suspects in Pondicherry, where they were living under assumed identities. Both men were married to school teachers in the area. 

Ranjini and her twin children were murdered at their residence in Anchal, Alayamon, with their throats slit in February 2006. Ranjini, who was unmarried, had been close to Divilkumar. After she became pregnant, she filed a complaint with the Women's Commission, which then requested Divilkumar to undergo a DNA test.

The Crime Branch initially investigated the case before the CBI took over. The CBI arrested them after receiving information that they were residing in Pondicherry.
