Kottayam: ‘Bertham’, the magazine of Government College, Kasaragod, has been selected for the Chief Editor’s Trophy for the best college magazine in the state, instituted by Malayala Manorama.
‘Chathathennu Thalliya Puzhukkalanu’ published by Payyanur College, and ‘Key Hole’ of Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Technology, Pampady, Kottayam, won the second and third prizes respectively.
‘Kattukanal’, written by A. T. Lijisha and featured in ‘Pacha’, the magazine of Thunchath Ezhuthachan Malayalam University, was adjudged the best short-story.
The awards were decided by a committee comprising writer Unni R., director Sreebala K. Menon, and Malayala Manorama editorial director Thomas Jacob. The short-story was selected by Malayala Manorama associate editor and writer Jose Panachippuram.
The magazine awards carry a purse of Rs 10,001, Rs 7,001, and Rs 5,001 respectively, besides a citation.
The writer of the best short-story will be awarded a cash prize of Rs 3,001.
