Thiruvananthapuram: The Left Democratic Front (LDF) will have two additional director general of prosecution posts, top sources told Onmanorama.
The previous LDF government had only one post, which was held by a CPM nominee.
This time, the Communist Party of India (CPI), the second largest constituent of the LDF, would also have a nominee, sources told Onmanorama.
The CPI nominee would be V. Rajendran, a senior advocate in the Kerala High Court. Rajendran is the son of late CPI stalwart and former Kerala CM P.K.Vasudevan Nair.
The LDF had also appointed two official as Additional Advocate General after it came to power.
The CPM nominee was Ravindranath and the CPI’s nominee was Ranjit Thampan, son of CPI leader and former legislator Meenakshi Thampan.
Ranjit Thampan had held the post in the V.S.Achuthanandan government of 2006-2011 also.
The final decision on Rajendran’s post would be announced after a meeting of the top CPI brass, which is currently on in M.N.Smarakam, the CPI headquarters in Thiruvananthapuram.
