Forever etched in memory Indian players celebrate their triumph over Pakistan in the final of the 2007 World T20 in Johannesburg. AFP

India-Pakistan cricket matches are always exciting affairs, a heady mix of adrenaline and nationalism. Ahead of Saturday's marquee clash between the subcontinental rivals in the Asia Cup, Onmanorama looks at the various milestones in the T20 Internationals featuring the two sides. If history is any indication of the future, India hold the edge.

It's advantage India

The Men in Blue have won four out of the six matches against Pakistan. They have suffered a lone defeat, while one match -- the inaugural T20I between the old foes in 2007 -- ended in a tie; but India went on to win the match in a bowl-out.

Kohli's record

Virat Kohli holds the record for scoring the most number of runs in these six clashes. The dashing right-hander has notched up 150 runs from four matches. A close second is Pakistan's Mohammad Hafeez (147 from five matches).

Kohli's unbeaten 78 in the 2012 World T20 clash in Colombo is also the best individual score in the games between the two sides.

Pakistan's Umar Gul is the leading wicket-taker, having scalped 11 from 6 matches, with a best of 4/37. Ifran Pathan is second in the list, with six wickets from three matches.

Pakistan pacer Mohammad Asif holds the record for the best individual bowling effort (4/18) in Durban in 2007. Among Indians, Bhuvneshwar Kumar has the best figures -- 3/9 on his debut in Bengaluru in 2012.

Men for all seasons

Indian skipper M.S. Dhoni and Yuvraj Singh have played in all six games between the two sides, while Pakistan's Shahid Afridi, Shoaib Malik, Kamran Akmal and Umar Gul too have not missed any of these matches.

Yuvraj has to his credit the most number of sixes – eight – with seven of them coming during his blazing 72-run knock at Ahmedabad in 2012.

Highs and lows

India's 192/5 at Ahmedabad in 2012 is the highest total, while Pakistan's best is 181/7 in the same game.

Pakistan's 128 all out in the 2012 World T20 match is the lowest total between the two countries, while India's five-run win in the final of the inaugural World T20 in 2007 is the lowest victory margin.
