Since late April, the Kochuthara colony in Edathua, Alappuzha, has been flooded several times intermittently. Every time, a flood occurs, the area remains submerged for days. In many other villages of Kuttanad, the story sounds similar.
The frequent flood along the Alappuzha-Changanassery canal-cum-road is only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to Kuttanad's problems.
