Addressing an online meeting on the issue of fixing the exhibition ground rent for the Pooram, the chief minister said that other matters can be discussed and decided after the event.
The dispute arose over the rent for the land, with the Cochin Devaswom Board increasing the amount to Rs 2.20 crore from the Rs 39 lakh charged during the previous edition.
A press release was issued after a joint meeting held by both Paramekkavu and Thiruvambadi Devaswoms on Monday.
The bench comprising Justice AJ Desai and Justice VG Arun stated that though the ban will remain in place, the government can grant permission for fireworks after considering the place of worship.
It was on November 3, the Kerala High Court issued an order banning fireworks at odd hours in religious places including temples.
The Paramekkavu and Thiruvambady devaswoms have expressed their disapproval of the verdict.
In 2024, the Pooram will be on April 19.
This year, Thrissur pooram returned with all its might and glory.
