The 93rd Academy Awards offered a few historic moments, as Chloé Zhao became the first Chinese woman and the first woman of color to be awarded Best Director.
Sean Connery and Chadwick Boseman were also among many others that the Academy remembered in the special tribute segment.
It was a smaller-than-usual affair with fewer celebrities and cameras - and strict COVID-19 protocols in place. But there was no less glamour to grace the carpet set up at Los Angeles' Mission Revival-style Union Station, where the 93rd annual Academy Awards will take place this year.
The ceremony, which used to be traditionally hosted at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, will be held at various locations this year due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
