Around 40,000 conventional rail coaches will be converted to Vande Bharat standard.
The cancellation is also to make space for special festival trains and a handful of regular trains.
In the year 2023-24, the highest-ever allocation of Rs 2.4 lakh crore was earmarked for the railways.
The train services in the district would be affected as restrictions have been imposed on the services due to maintenance works in the railway stations between Ernakulam and Palakkad.
The train is expected to depart SVDK at 8.10 am and reach Srinagar at 11.20 am.
A new Kashmir-special Vande Bharat sleeper will be inaugurated on January 26.
