Recently, the college was crowned the overall winner of the Kerala University Youth Festival with 273 points.
The Department of Higher Education has informed the University registrars that one instalment of the non-plan grant for the Kerala University, Mahatma Gandhi University, Calicut University, Sanskrit University, CUSAT and Kannur University has been cancelled.
An entrance examination would be held to shortlist candidates for admission.
Admissions will be based on entrance tests to be conducted from May 10 to 14.
CUET (PG) will provide a single-window opportunity to students seeking admission in any of the Central Universities (CUs) or other participating organizations (including State Universities, Deemed, and Private Universities) across the country.
The Guv's action came after certain members abstained from the Kerala University Senate meeting. Out of the 13 people nominated by the Guv, two attended the meeting.
It will be the first honorary doctorate awarded by the Kasaragod-based university since its inception in 2009.
The petitioners had contended that qualifications prescribed were contrary to those prescribed under the University Grants Commission (UGC) regulations and were also "irrational and unreasonable."
Interested candidates can submit applications for admission to the 2023-25 batch online till March 31.
