The revision pertains to Chapter 8, ‘Recent Developments in Indian Politics’.
The references to the Ram Janmabhoomi movement have been tweaked "as per latest development in politics".
Responding to the Election Commission's demand, the NCERT excluded two chapters from the textbooks designated for Class 7 and Class 10.
NCERT Chairman Dinesh Saklani, said no decision has been taken yet on the panel's recommendations.
Arif Khan's statement comes amid a heated controversy over the NCERT panel's proposal.
He also clarified that nobody coerced him into making the recommendation and that he was satisfied with his decision.
The panel suggested introducing 'classical history' instead of 'ancient history' and including Indian Knowledge System in curriculum. NCERT officials said no decision has been taken yet on the recommendations.
The government took such a stand in accordance with Kerala's exemplary educational background, the Minister said.
