The Crime Branch sleuths arrested Sai Shankar from Andhra. Shankar, arraigned as the seventh accused in the case, has helped Dileep erase some crucial data from his phone, according to the police.
The probe report, submitted before a court here, also said the chats were erased with the help of cybersecurity expert Sai Shankar and were beyond recovery.
The investigators claimed it was Vincent Chowallur who had introduced Dileep’s lawyers to Mumbai-based cybersecurity experts in their bid to erase data from the actor’s mobile phones.
In her plea, the actress alleged that Dileep's lawyers and the advocates assisting them in the case committed 'illegal and unethical acts'.
Last week, the High Court had denied bail to Sunil N S also known as 'Pulsar Suni', who is the main accused in the case.
The court gave the directive while considering a plea by the Crime Branch that sought permission to question the staff, including the clerk, who are responsible for the mainour produced in court.
The revelations came shortly after his retirement from 34 years of service with the Kerala Police.
The investigating officers hope to prove Dileep's link to prime accused Pulsar Suni based on director Balachandrakumar's statement.
