Being someone from the northern parts of the country, the pleasant aroma of Chicken Biryani and Palak Paneer captivated me, urging me to dig in. The mouth-watering dishes reminded me of my mother 's cooking. There was a strange sense of nostalgia as I applied minimal wrist action while devouring a piece of paneer; paneer here could easily pass off as cotton candy. The dishes brought out the original flavours with the perfect blend of basmati rice, chicken, palak (a variety of spinach) and paneer wrapped in cinnamon and bay leaves. The glorious symphony in my mouth would have made Beethoven proud! The range of stuffed parathas, butter masalas and tandoor rotis are worth your wait and a delight for your starving stomach. The ambience and service are worth a mention too. The friendly waiters do justice to the glorified North Indian hospitality, making this a very homely place. This would ensure a guaranteed second visit by their customers. Situated in the middle of the town at Kalarikal bazar, the Punjabi Restaurant has been dishing up North Indian cuisine for the last 35 years. Check out their Kelmi Kebab and the Reshmi Kebab; if you are a veggie, Gobi Manchurian and Aloo Dum are dishes you should not give a miss. One can leave The Punjabi Restraunt with a stomach full of delightful food that doesn't dig a hole in your wallet. The Chicken biryani costs Rs 130, whereas Palak Paneer will come up to Rs 80. A visit with family or friends who love and share your food interests will indeed be a memorable experience; The flavours bring to mind the diverse food culture of northern parts of India and moreover, it's a good place to hangout.
