Thiruvananthapuram: Classes for students in the 10th grade and plus-one and plus-two will be back to regular schedule from Monday.

General Education Minister V Sivankutty said here Saturday that the classes that are currently held till noon will be extended to the evening.

The minister said the aim was to finish the pending portions on time.

"The final exams are coming up and we have to finish the portions. Also, schools have to be given time to prepare for the model exams," said Sivankutty.

The government had earlier decided to resume classes for grades 1-9 on February 14.

Meanwhile, the minister said the authorities concerned in the Kollam, which is the only district classified as 'c category' in the state now, have been instructed to take extra care when the classes resume.

Districts under the c category have the most restrictions in place due to the prevailing COVID-19 situation.
