Areekode (Malappuram): N Bindu didn’t expect to get a government job when she started attending PSC coaching classes with her son Vivek. Now, the family is joyous as the mother – son duo has landed government jobs with their continuous hard work and determination. Vivek grabbed 38th rank in the LDC exam while Bindu got 92nd rank in the last grade servant exam.

After their training sessions at a private coaching centre, Bindu and Vivek would share their doubts at home and exchange notes too. Bindu started preparing for competitive exams ever since Vivek entered Class X. Interestingly, she found time to study while working as a teacher at the nearby Mathakode anganwadi. Besides, she would finish her household chores before sitting down for studies.

The 41-year-old is overjoyed she could bag a government job with a good rank as this was her last chance. Though she had been included in the LGS and LDC rank lists earlier, she did not have a good rank. However, this didn’t deter Bindu from trying even harder.

Meanwhile, Vivek is thrilled that he could get an impressive position in the rank list. Bindu is the wife of Chandran who works at the Edappal depot of KSRTC. In 2019, Bindu had won the award for the best anganwadi teacher in the state. The family now hopes that the mother and son can join the government service together.
