Kerala School Science Fair: Palakkad ahead on Day-2

Kochi: Palakkad district has taken the early lead as the Kerala School Science Fair got underway here on Friday.

As the competitions for Day-1 were completed on Thursday, Palakkad with 253 points is just ahead of the second-placed Kannur district which secured 246 points. Kottayam holds the third position with 237 points.

The points of other districts: Kozhikode (231), Thiruvananthapuram (229), Malappuram (227), Thrissur (224), Wayanad (223), Ernakulam (220), Alappuzha (219), Pathanamthitta (215), Idukki (214), Kollam (209) and Kasaragod (208).

Schools category
In the overall point list of schools TRK Higher Secondary School at Vaniyamkulam in Palakkad leads with 66 points, while Government Vocational Higher Secondary Shool at Mananthavady in Wayanad district follows with 58 points in the second position.

Mary Immaculate High School at Poomkavu in Alappuzha is at the third place with 46 points.

Science, IT competitions
In the Science fair, the competition is neck to neck between Palakkad and Kannur districts. On the inaugural day, Palakkad leads with 54 points, while Kannur is right behind with 52 points.

Kannur and Thrissur shared the first position with 31 points on day one at the IT fair. Kozhikode leads in the Social Sciences fair with 48 points.

Palakkad bagged 129 points and leads in the Maths fair, while Kannur is second with 122 points.

The State School Science fair being held at Ernakulam will conclude on Saturday. Separate fairs are held for Science, Maths, Social Science, Work Experience and IT subjects.
