Meet JEE-Main Kerala topper Ashik Stenny

Pala: Ashik Stenny, the top scorer from Kerala in the JEE-Main examination, says that he prepared daily for the exam in the evenings and devoted more time during the weekends.

The 18-year-old studied from 6pm to 11pm. In between, he kept aside some time for prayers and dinner. He sleeps for 6 hours daily, and wakes up at 5am. He likes to watch football.

A Plus-Two Science student at the Chavara Public School, Ashik secured 100 percentile in the exam. He trained for the JEE-Main exam at the Brilliant Study Centre. He secured 285 marks out of 300. He is currently preparing for the JEE-Advanced exam to be held in June. Ashik said his aim is to get admission either at IIT-Madras or IIT-Bombay.

He studied at the Alphonsa Residential School at Bharananganam till Class 10. He secured 93 per cent in the Class 10 exam in the ICSE syllabus. He is also a winner of Mathematics and Chemistry Olympiads. He has also cleared the KVPY and NTSE scholarship exams.

He is the son of Stenny James and Binu George. Stenny is a teacher at the Brilliant Study Centre. Ashik’s brother Akhil is a Class 10 student.
