Not many heroines dare to appear as an elderly character on screen. Anushka Shetty did it in Bahubali, in which she acted in the role of Prabhas' mother. Anushka's bold move was widely appreciated.

And here is yet another glam doll who is all set to follow suit.

If sources are to be believed, pretty pinup Samantha Akkineni is all set to don the role of a 70-year-old woman in noted Tollywood director Nandini Reddy’s next flick.

According to grapevine, Samantha will play the septuagenarian in Nandini Reddy’s remake of Korean hit film ‘Miss Granny’.

The film will go on floors in December or early next year. ‘Miss Granny’, released in 2014, tells the story of a woman in her 70s who magically transforms into a 20-year-old girl after taking a photo of hers at a mysterious photo studio.

Samantha has agreed to do the challenging role, according to insiders in Film Nagar.

Talk that Samantha would be playing in the remake of the Korean movie has been doing the rounds for sometime now.

But there was no official word on it and her role was a closely guarded secret.

With three back-to-back hits to her credit - Rangasthalam, Mahanati and U Turn, Samanatha, 31, has been extremely cautious about her looks of late, industry sources said. Wait and watch if this has something to do with her next role.
