In 2014, when actress Amala Paul, who was at the peak of her career, announced her wedding with Tamil director A.L. Vijay, it created a huge buzz in the tinsel town.
After a grand betrothal in Kerala, the couple tied the knot on June 12, 2014 in Chennai. After the marriage, Amala relocated to Chennai and lived with Vijay at a bungalow in the posh Boat Club area.
Although it's hard to count the number of celebrity couples who rushed into marriage and then promptly filed for divorce, the split rumors of the South Indian star couple shocked one and all.

And now, sources have revealed that the main reason for their misunderstanding was that Amala continued her film career and went on a signing spree after her marriage, despite the disapproval of Vijay’s parents.
Talking to a daily, Amala Paul's husband Vijay expressed his unwillingness to comment on the issue. ''I don’t want to talk anything about it. I will abide by my parent's decision,'' he said.
It's learnt that both will opt for a divorce with mutual consent.
It was during the making of Deiva Thirumagal that the duo fell in love. The couple dated for three years before marriage.
