Dulquer Salmaan starrer Charlie set a new opening-day box office collection record in Malayalam movie industry by amassing Rs 2 crore on the release day.
The Martin Prakkat directorial has Dulquer Salmaan and Parvathy in the lead role. The movie hit theatres with high expectations as Martin and Dulquer were teaming up for the first time after the success of ABCD.
The movie, so far, has been the best performer among the Christmas releases, and it is gathering positive reviews from audience and critics alike.
Nivin Pauly's Premam, which released in 2015 May collected Rs 3.5 crore in the first two days. Charlie will be competing with the figures set up by Premam.
