It was a good day for Tamil box office as two Dilwali releases -- Kodi and Kaashmora -- opened well.
Both the Diwali biggies were released in Tamil Nadu on nearly 450 to 500 screens each and according to trade analysts, the first three days are going to be very crucial, as 90 per cent of the lifetime collections are going to come in the opening weekend.
Karthi's big budget movie Kaashmora reportedly registered a better occupancy than Kodi and collected over Rs 5 crore on the opening day. The movie also witnessed a good start in Kerala as well.
Meanwhile, Kodi, written and directed by RS Durai Senthilkumar, opened to fairly positive reviews and collected Rs 4 crore on the first day. Reportedly, a few of the early morning shows were cancelled in many centers which affected the gross collection. It is estimated that the good reviews might give a boost to the Dhanush-starrer.
