Kottayam: The announcement of the 63rd National Film Awards has made the district proud with Bengaluru-settled Puthupally native Jacob Varghese’s Dribbling with Their Future winning the laurels for the best exploration/adventure film.
Jacob’s brother Mathew Varghese produced the multilingual movie, in English, Hindi and Kannada. The brothers are from the Chakkumchira family.
The movie narrates the tale of a group of Austin, US, children, who loves football over anything else. ‘Dribbling with Their Future’ tells the kids’ hardships to overcome all odds, and their successful visit to Beijing for a tournament.
Jacob Varghese, with four films under his belt, debuted with Anthyam in 2010. The movie had won him the national award for the best debutant director.
He later donned the megaphone for Sawari and Prithvi, and the latter won him Karnataka government’s award for the best movie.
