One of the posters, made in Malayalam, for the recent Kamal Haasan action thriller Thoongavanam is doing its rounds in the social media, collecting the ire of a large number of people.
Among the cast of Thoongavanam displayed on the poster is Asha Sarath, who doesn't quite look herself. And the social media butterflies had no difficulty analysing why; a photo of actor Nithya Menen has been dug out that sports an uncanny resemblance to Asha Sarath, barring her face.
Now, the problem has become simpler. Supposedly the handiwork of a poster designer, who was probably heeding to the demands of his distributor, who needed a 'seductive' Asha Sarath. A couple of us have seen the movie and no, Asha Sarath does not sport a T-shirt in Thoongavanam.
We spotted this poster in Cinema Paradiso Club, a Kerala-based Facebook group of movie buffs, thanks to FB user Arun Madhav, who shared it there.
Like how a fan says, did we really need a photoshopped photograph to be pulled into the theatre for a Kamal Haasan flick?
