Ranjith Sankar's next after Su.. Su... Sudhi Vathmeekam is a horror flick titled Pretham. While that already made news, what's new about the project is its celebrated sound engineer who just got roped in!
Justin Jose, the man behind the sound mixing and engineering in massive movies like Baahubali and Bajrangi Bhaijaan is the technician who's joined the team of Pretham.
Written and directed by Ranjith Sankar, the film will star Jayasuriya, along with three others. Ranjith says that since sound designing is extremely important for the film, they had to bring in the talented Justin Jose, who is part of Baahubali 2 as well.
Ranjith is excited to be doing a film in the horror genre. The story revolves around the lives of three men who had studied together at some point—Aju Varghese, Joju and Padmasurya. For the women parts, a couple of new faces are taken in as well. Ranjith reminisced that the first ever story he wrote was a horror thriller for a TV series. He says that the film should induce laughter, fear, as well as make the audience feel relived in the end.
The cinematography for the film is handled by Jithu Damodar and editing is taken care of by Shajan. The shooting would start on May 20 and the film looks at an August release.
