Dinoop Murali’s spectacular abode at the mesmerizing countryside of Chambakkulam in Kuttanad, Kerala, is truly a head turner. Surrounded by lush green paddy fields and coconut orchards, this magnificent structure amazingly complements the beautiful nature around. The house which is a smartly designed structure features a fine blend of traditional and contemporary architectural styles.
As the plot is in the middle of the field, the foundation had to be built strong by doing the piling. Designed in 2700 sqft, this fabulous abode has a sit out, living and dining areas, kitchen with a work area, upper living area and four bedrooms.
Simple yet elegant design features are the highlight of the interiors. Meanwhile, vitrified tiles have been paved on the floor. Interestingly, the design of the flooring gels well with the ceiling too. Most of the furniture pieces have been reused here.
The stair area is in double height. A pebble courtyard and a swing have been arranged beneath the stair way to make it an attractive spot. The unique artifacts of snake boats and paddles pay tribute to the rich cultural heritage of Chambakkulam. The stairway and the hand railings feature a classy combination of MS and wood.
The kitchen is furnished in marine ply with laminate finish. Meanwhile, the counter top has been paved with granite. An open serving counter is what connects the kitchen with the dining area.
The bedrooms are bath attached with enough wardrobes for storage. The rooms are simple without any over the top decorations.
The open terrace and the balcony in the upper storey are where the family members love to spend their evenings. The enchanting breeze that flows from the fields, the splendid sun set and the panoramic view of the beautiful hamlet could be enjoyed in all its glory from here.
