The kitchen is the most vital spot in a house that could influence the ambience of the interiors. The family members would be healthier only if the kitchen is kept neat and tidy. The kitchen sink, if not kept clean, could become a breeding ground for bacteria. The vessels that are washed in a dirty sink wouldn’t be clean and could become carriers of deadly bacteria. If not washed and scrubbed properly, food particles could get stuck in the corners of the sink and begin stinking. Similarly, a clogged sink could be your worst nightmare. Usually, the food particles get stuck in the valve, clogging the sink. While cleaning the sink, make sure to remove the food particles, especially in the drain. Here are some tips to easily unclog the kitchen sink and make them clean.

Using hot water to clean the sink is the easiest method. Hot water could be poured into the drain slowly to remove the food waste that is stuck in the valve.

Mix equal amounts of baking soda and vinegar in a bowl. As soon as it begins to froth up, pour it into the drain. This would clean the drainage valve and pipe instantly.

A clogged sink could be cleaned using a wet and dry vacuum too. Fix a plunger head on the mouth of a vacuum tube. Hold this over the drain and set the power on maximum to suck out the waste materials that are clogging the sink.

Using caustic soda is an excellent method to clean the sink. However, one needs to be careful while using caustic soda which is also known as sodium hydroxide. Take 3 liters of water in a bucket. Mix 3 cups of caustic soda in it. Stir well using a wooden spatula or a rod. Pour this liquid into the drain as soon as it begins to froth up. Leave it for at least 20 – 30 minutes. After that, pour some hot water into the drain to clean it thoroughly.
