The police are on the hunt for two youngsters who hurled a petrol bomb into a crowd comprising students at Kattakkada in Thiruvananthapuram on Wednesday.

According to the Kattakkada Police, the youngsters were identified as Nikhil, 23 and Alsaj, 22, by the locals.

The incident occurred by 4.30 pm near the Paruthippally Government School.

The bomb was hurled at a waiting shed and according to the police, nobody was hurt even though it exploded.

It is unsure what provoked the youngsters, who reportedly came in a bike, hurled a bomb and then fled, said the police.

However, Manorama News reported that the accused, Nikhil had got into an altercation with one of the students after he had alighted a bus at the stop.

Nikhil was reportedly mocked by some students. He had a fight with one of the students before returning to the place and threw the bomb.
