Thrissur: Actor Sreejith Ravi, arrested in a POCSO case, was denied bail by the Additional District Sessions Court here on Thursday.

The actor, who donned roles in films including Jo and Jo and Godha, was sent to remand custody for 14 days.

Ravi was arrested by Thrissur West Police earlier today in wake of complaints filed by two children, aged nine and 14, who recognised the actor when he resorted to exhibitionism near SN Park, Ayyanthol.

The Police had pressed the court to deny him bail as this was not Ravi's first crime of this nature.

A similar case was registered against the actor only a few years ago, but it eventually fizzled out.

Police said that granting the actor bail now would send a wrong message to the community.

In Ravi's defence, his lawyers informed the court that the actor had a behavioural disorder and was undergoing psychotherapy for the same. But this failed to move the court.

Apparently, the police investigated the incident based on the information on his vehicle. The children said that Sreejith was at the park in a black-coloured car, and the CCTV visuals of the area were also examined.

In a similar case filed against the actor in Palakkad, the parents of the school girls who were complainants in the case had alleged at the time that the police sabotaged the case without collecting the required evidence.

Sreejith has also acted in Punyalan Agarbathis, Ramante Edenthottam and Karinkunnam 6s
