Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala Public Service Commission on Thursday stated that it was ready to take over recruitment of personnel to devaswom board. The commission has already prepared a framework towards the same and submitted it to the government. K.S. Radhakrishnan, Chairman, PSC said that the take over of devaswom board recruitment will never go against the traditions of the Hindu religion.
The government has not yet asked the PSC to handle appointments to devaswom. Meanwhile, the responsibility of making appointments of persons connected with the rituals like the priest and so on will still be invested with the devaswom board. PSC will be looking after appointments of personnel like clerk, engineer and so on.
The government has taken the stand that an establishment like devaswom recruitment board was not necessary for the task, which a section of PSC can do.
