Dr Habeeb Muhammed. TV grabThrissur: The police on Wednesday arrested Habeeb Muhammed, a doctor at the Thrissur Medical College Hospital, on the charge of molesting a third-year MBBS student inside the operation theater.
The survivor's complaint to the police and the college principal said Dr Muhammed, a general surgeon, tried to grab her inside the theater.
Acting on the girl's complaint, the police took the doctor into custody. His arrest was formally recorded after the doctor was questioned by police officers.
The college also launched an internal inquiry.
MBBS students staged a protest on the college campus demanding that Dr Muhammed be taken out of service.
