The back-to-back wild attacks have triggered much panic among the local people, urging them to hold multiple protests and demonstrations across the district.
Locals, reeling under the impact of wildlife encroachment, are staging protests that transcend political affiliations.
The meeting also cleared the forest department's proposal to purchase drones as well as wireless communication devices for tracking and surveillance of wild animals.
Manorama News reported that the forest department sources tracked the elephant near the Chembakapadi region of the forest.
