The statement came two days after a stand-off in Imphal East's Itham village between the Army and a mob led by women that forced the forces to let go of 12 militants holed up there.
Among those holed up in the village was self-styled Lt Col Moirangthem Tamba alias Uttam, a wanted terrorist who may have been the mastermind of the Dogra ambush tragedy, officials said.
Five Army personnel were killed and a major was injured on Friday in an explosion triggered by terrorists in the densely forested Kandi area in Rajouri district.
In the morning, two Army men belonging to the Special Forces were killed and four, including the major, injured. Later in the day, three died in a hospital in Udhampur.
The crash took place in the hill district's Marwah area, officials said.
The Army reported the death of another soldier at the same military base a day after the shooting incident but it said it was not linked to the killings.
Power struggle between the commander of the armed forces, and the head of the Rapid Support Forces group triggered the clashes.
The incident, which comes after Sunday's killing of a Kashmiri Pandit, took place around 1:15 am.
The top court, on a plea filed by NRI Joseph Shine, in 2018 had struck down Section 497 of the Indian Penal Code dealing with the offence of adultery, holding it unconstitutional.
