The district administration has requested the Election Commission of India (ECI) to restrict the code of conduct to the constituency rather than enforcing it across the district. The Collector expressed optimism that the Commission would consider their plea.
The number of voters per booth will be limited to 1,200.
The government announced the appointment of Gyanesh Kumar as the new CEC late on Monday, just hours after a meeting of the prime minister-led selection committee.
His term will run till January 26, 2029.
Rahul Gandhi alleged that nearly one crore more voters have registered between the Maharashtra Lok Sabha and assembly elections.
14,000 control units, 26400 ballot units and 35000 DMM( detachable memory module) will be purchased for the elections.

The directive shall be applicable only for the bypolls scheduled on December 10.
Krishnakumar criticised the district administration for failing to remove double votes promptly.
