On Saturday, the CPM State Secretariat removed party strongman Jayarajan as LDF convener and replaced him with former minister and MLA Ramakrishnan.
Close party observers Onmanorama talked to said the party was unhappy with Jayarajan's performance as LDF convenor ever since M V Govindan assumed the role of the party secretary.
He represents the Perambra constituency in the Kerala Assembly.
Jayarajan, who returned to Kannur on Friday night, will not attend the CPM State Secretariat meeting on Saturday.
If the LDF heeds it, KP Mohanan, RJD’s lone MLA from Kuthuparamba and the son of late Socialist leader PR Kurup, will become a minister.
The LDF Convener had a tough time during the Lok Sabha polls after allegations of his links with BJP leader Javadekar surfaced.
EP Jayarajan said he would approach the Supreme Court against the HC order.
Defending Jayarajan, he declared that the 73-year-old CPM veteran never wanted to join BJP.
He claimed that he had never ever met Sobha Surendran.
The CPM state secretariat has accepted Jayarajan's explanation that Javadekar had arrived at his son's house unannounced.
