Rashtriya Indian Military College, Dehradun, beckons Class-7 students

Young aspirants who dream of a splendid career in military can apply to the ‘Rashtriya Indian Military College’ in Dehradun. Girls too can apply.

The entrance test has been scheduled on 4 June at various state capitals including in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala.

Eligibility
The applicants should be studying or should have passed Class 7 during the time of admission on 1 January 2023. They should be between the age of 11 and a half and 13 years.

There is no age relaxation for anyone.

The selected candidates can study from Class 8 to 12 at the institute. However, Science stream is only available for plus two. Social science too would be taught in order to train the candidates in case they wish to attempt the Union Public Service Commission exams for admission to the National Defense Academy and the Indian Naval Academy.

How to apply
Applications could be sent until 25 April. The notification would be published on the website of the Kerala Pareeksha Bhavan – http://keralapareekshabhavan.in.

The applications should not be directly sent to the RIMC.

You may download the application form, prospectus and previous years’ question papers by paying

an application fee of Rs 600 online on the website http://rimc.gov.in

Scheduled Caste/Tribe candidates eligible for reservation need to pay Rs 550.

Viva voce
Those who score qualifying marks in the written exams would be invited for viva voce. The intelligence, communication skills and personality of the candidates would be evaluated in this.

The candidates who pass the viva– voce should undergo a detailed medical examination to prove physical fitness.

Annual fee
The annual fee is Rs 107,500 and Rs 93,900 for Scheduled Caste/Tribe candidates. The latter could avail an annual scholarship of Rs 27,000 instituted by the government of Kerala.

Rs 30,000 should be deposited in the beginning.
