Kottayam: The Department of Food Technology, in association with the Saintgits Association of Food Technologists, hosted an Exhibition-cum-Sale titled ‘Second Harvest’ on 18 January 2025, focusing on the theme ‘Value Addition of Greens and Grains.’ The event celebrated student creativity and entrepreneurship, featuring a diverse range of self-crafted food products.

Coordinated by Dr Poojitha P., Assistant Professor (Senior), along with student coordinators Christo Tomy Philip and Fazna B (final-year B.Tech Food Technology students), the exhibition provided students with a platform to present and sell their culinary innovations, demonstrating their skills and innovative approach to food technology.

Dr Poojitha P noted, ‘The expo highlighted the nutritional benefits and versatility of greens and grains while promoting healthy eating and sustainable food choices.’

Before the exhibition, an Appert Lecture was coordinated by Ms Ann Justin Kappen, Assistant Professor (FRA), featuring Mr Anil Ambadi, Managing Director of Ambadi Hi-Tech Dairy Farm. He shared insights on product development, entrepreneurship, and success strategies in the food industry, setting an inspiring tone for the event.
