Noted Tollywood director Sukumar is still basking in the huge success of his last film 'Rangasthalam', an action drama that went on to become one of the biggest hits this year. Now he is planning his next big budget film with superstar Mahesh Babu in the lead, according to our sources.
Sukumar is said to be busy finalising his cast and crew and has already zeroed in on two actresses to play opposite Mahesh Babu. Our sources say that ‘Bharat Ane Nenu’ fame Kiara Advani and ‘DevDas’ heroine Rashmika Mandanna are the lucky duo.
Sukumar is ready with the script and is waiting for Mahesh Babu to come back from the US where he is wrapping up shoot for Vamshi Paidipally’s latest film. It is understood that Mahesh Babu has agreed to begin Sukumar’s film as soon as he winds up his current one.
This film, which is going to be the 26th movie of Mahesh Babu, will be produced by Maithri Movie Makers. Sukumar has begun pre-production works of the film which will be released in 2019, say our sources. Noted music director Devi Sri Prasad will tune the songs.
Though the earlier Sukumar movie with Mahesh Babu as the hero ‘Nenokkade’ did not raise up to the audiences’ expectations, the ace director is having high hopes for his next, say insiders.
The story of the period drama revolves round post-Independent era and the team is hopeful of its success, it is learnt.
However, Kiara and Rashmika are said to be on cloud nine!
