Mammootty, Mohanlal join league of stars to support survivor in actor assault case

Top personalities in the Malayalam film industry have thrown their weight behind the actor, who survived an assault in a moving car in 2017 after she vowed on Monday to continue her fight till she gets justice.

Dulquer Salmaan, Tovino Thomas, Kunchacko Boban, Jayasurya, Nivin Pauly, Asif Ali, Aju Verghese, Manju Warrier, Ashiq Abu, Baburaj, Anna Ben, Arya, Smruthi Kiran, Supriya Menon, Femina George, Mridula Murali, Nimisha Sajayan, Poornima Indrajith, Aishwarya Lakshmi, among others, too came forward in support of the actor.

The assault survivor sprang a surprise on Monday with a moving Instagram post in which she described her ordeals for the last five years and her resolve to fight for justice.

"...For 5 years now, my name and my identity have been suppressed under the weight of the assault inflicted on me, Though I am not the one who has committed the crime there have been many attempts to humiliate, silence and isolate me. ” she wrote.

Actor Dileep is the eighth accused in the assault case.

Recently, the Crime Branch of the Kerala Police had registered a case against Dileep based on the fresh allegations by film director Balachandrakumar.
