Dhanush to remake Dulquer Salmaan's 'Charlie'

With Dulquer Salmaan's Charlie breaking box office records in Kerala, the movie is gearing up for its Tamil version.

Charlie is produced jointly by Martin Prakkat, Joju George and Shebin Becker under the banner, Finding Cinemas. According to sources close to the producer, “it was actor-producer Dhanush himself who expressed a desire to watch the movie. Quite impressed with Charlie, Dhanush has approached the makers for its remake rights.”

It sure seems an exciting prospect that the National award winner-cum-producer has taken an interest in the Dulquer starrer. We're left to anticipate how it will pan out on Dhanush's canvas.

Meanwhile, Charlie has easily managed to break through the blockbuster league of 2015. Cracking the first day collection records of Mohanlal starrer Loham, Charlie has emerging as the Malayalam movie with highest ever initial collection.

According to reports, Charlie also became the fastest movie to cross a 50 lakh margin in Ernakulam multiplexes, beating the previous film, Amar Akbar Anthony, that had achieved this feat.

Interestingly, the trailer of Charlie is all set to beat the record of Bangalore Days with the highest number of views a Malayalam movie trailer has witnessed so far.
