Hyderabad: Mammootty and Parvathy were adjudged as the best actors from Mollywood at the 63rd Britannia Filmfare Awards (south) at a glittering ceremony held in Hyderabad on Saturday.
The who's who of the southern industry were in attendance at the Hyderabad Convention Centre for the event that saw Ennu Ninte Moidneen sweeping most of the prominent awards in Malayalam, including that of the best actress. The romantic saga on a real life couple won the best director award (R.S. Vimal), supporting actor (Tovino Thomas), supporting actress (Lena), music director (M. Jayachandran), lyrics (Rafeeq Ahmed) and female playback singer (Shreya Ghosal).
Mammootty took home the best actor award for his performance in Pathemari, that was also adjudged as the best film. Jayasurya received the critics award for best actor for his performance in Su Sudhi Vatmeekam, while Jyothika got the best actress critics' award for 36 Vayadhinile.
Vijay Yesudas' soulful rendering of 'Malare' from Premam won him the male best playback singer award. Sai Pallavi was awarded for her debut performance in Premam.
Kaaka Muttai won the best film award among Tamil movies, while Vikram won the best actor for I and Nayanathara got the best actress award for Naanum Rowdy Dhaan.
Meanwhile in Telugu, Baahubali won the best film, director (S.S. Rajamouli), female supporting actor (Ramya Krishanan) and playback singer (Geetha Madhuri) awards. Mahesh Babu pocketed the best actor award for his performance in Srimanthudu.
