Tamil actress Ishaara Nair, who shot to fame with Sathuranga Vetta has accused director Kevin Joseph of sexual harassment.
Ishaara has been in the middle of a controversy after the makers of her latest film launched a complaint against her. Kevin, director of upcoming film Engada Irundheenga Ivvalavu Naala claimed that Ishaara refused to shoot for the film and has gone absconding after taking advance payment.
Now, the actress has come forward alleging that the director harassed her on the sets. She said he used to explain the scenes to her in a vulgar way in front of everyone.
Speaking to a daily, Ishaara said, “I cannot even explain how vulgar it was. He was trying to touch me while talking to me. He used to push me to the wall and say, 'pannu dee, pannu dee'. That was not professional. I was feeling harassed and I could not do the movie.”
On the other hand, Kevin has rubbished the harassment allegations and stated that the film does not have any vulgar scenes.
Responding to Ishaara Nair's statements, Kevin admitted that he used to call her "vaa dee" and "po dee" on the sets but added that it was because he was brought up in Nagercoil where people talk to each other in such a way.
Kevin further said that Ishaara can bring people with her to the sets if she feels unsafe working in the film and requested her to complete the project.
Ishaara was reportedly paid Rs 75,000 as advance after being signed for Rs 4 lakh remuneration.
