In a brilliant reading of 'Kammatipaadam', the recently released Malayalam film, actor Vinayakan said he would like to know who made the ally, through which the mortal remains of his character Gangan was carried to the crematorium, so narrow.
Vinayakan was addressing a discussion on 'the history of the marginalised' based on the film, directed by Rajeev Ravi.
"I was born and brought up in Kammatipaadam. I don't understand who made the ally so narrow. Everyone should think about it. In the beginning of the film, the place where Gangan lives is shown as a sprawling area. Then several people come there and make each plot theirs," Vinayakan said.

At the event, Vinayakan termed the characters of Gangan and his brother Balan, who fell prey to the wickedness of the rich, stupid. The actor then told the cheering audience that one should be careful enough not to become such fools.
Before concluding his speech, Vinayakan sang a couple of lines of 'Puzhu Pulikal', a song composed by him for the film, with the crowd cheering him along.
